Under the auspicious guidance of H.E. Lho Ontul Rinpoche and Ratna Rinpoche la, the Drikung Kagyu Monastery at Rewalsar has organized Covid-19 Welfare Measures in the aim of providing help to the vulnerable daily labourers from other states, poor local Indians and Tibetans living in and around Tsopema.

With the generous help and contributions from many individuals and organizations, the Monastery successfully launched many social welfare activities as follow: 

The Monastery successfully distributed more than 840 kg of packaged essential food items each to the 114 migrant labourers’ families, 27 local poor Indian families, 26 needy Tibetan families, and 100 slam dwellers in Mandi during the nationwide lockdown in India.   

The Monastery distributed medical supplies PPE kits, Pulse Oximeters, Digital thermometers, Examination gloves, N-95 masks, Streamers, Hand sanitizers, Oxygen cylinder and Nebulizer Machine to the local Indian Governmental Departments, local Tibetan clinic, Tibetan 

Women’s Association, Bir Tibetan Society and Soka school.
