The 3rd H.E. Lho Ontul Rinpoche bought a piece of land in Rewalsar in 1971 and established the 2nd Wogmin Thupten Shedup Ling in Rewalsar, India. Registration Number 5601/86 is registered under the H.P. Cooperative Society Act XXI, 1860, as a non-profit & a charitable organization to preserve and promote Buddhist culture of non-violence and compassion through the teachings of Drikung Kagyu lineage in the Himalayan regions. The Monastery is an important seat for the followers of Tibetan Buddhism. The Monastery has become a center for study, contemplation, and meditation on the Buddha Dharma, and thus to promote global peace and well-being of all sentient beings. 

May monasteries be well established, 

full of chanting and study.
May they be learned and cultured, 

receive alms, and have provisions.
May their mind streams be pure 

and their fame be proclaimed in every direction.
May the purpose of the Sangha be accomplished.
