The 3rd H.E. Lho Ontul Rinpoche bought a piece of land in Rewalsar in 1971 and established the 2nd Wogmin Thupten Shedup Ling in Rewalsar, India. Registration Number 5601/86 is registered under the H.P. Cooperative Society Act XXI, 1860, as a non-profit & a charitable organization to preserve and promote Buddhist culture of non-violence and compassion through the teachings of Drikung Kagyu lineage in the Himalayan regions. The Monastery is an important seat for the followers of Tibetan Buddhism. The Monastery has become a center for study, contemplation, and meditation on the Buddha Dharma, and thus to promote global peace and well-being of all sentient beings.
Since the Monastery’s inception, H.E. Lho Ontrul Rinpoche planned and guide in all activities and services offered at the Monastery.
